Maldives Spa and Nails
The logo and branding direction for the business was decided before the website was conceived. I wanted to focus on three things – space, curves, and softness.
The shapes of the logo represent the waves of the ocean as a tie-in to the business name.
The color scheme is a collection of burgundy and magenta shades and hues, meant to be reserved, subtle and at the same time chic and elegant.
The typeface used is Butler, “a serif typeface inspired by a mix between both Dala Floda & the amazing Bodoni family.”

The final result was quite an elegant mark.

The typeface is crisp and clear, albeit different scaling will require the use of the alternate variant where the type is slightly enlarged to accommodate formats such as business cards or web icon. Both the symbol and the text were designed to be graceful by themselves as there will be times where each entity will be displayed separately.
The color scheme was chosen to compliment the interior design of the shop-to-be, which will possess a more neutral, earthtone interior. The sharp contrast will ensure that the logo will be prominent at the reception desk and on the shop banner.
